Payroll Updates For 2007 Have Shipped January 10, 2007

The annual payroll update for Genesis Advantage began shipping today with updated tax tables and rates. The 2007 Payroll Update also includes new features including the ability to create a commissioned employee's check just by pointing and clicking at entries on the employee's commission report.

 

Genesis Software Systems Unveils The Manager's Dashboard December 16, 2006

A powerful and exciting new feature called "The Manager's Dashboard" has been added to the Genesis Advantage system. The Manager's Dashboard assembles key action points and performance figures and displays them on a single screen. Drill-downs are available for any of the summary totals or action points so that a store manager can quickly get down to the nuts and bolts of the data if needed.

 

New Location at Las Vegas Market December 1, 2006

The Retail Resource Center will move to the 16th floor of building B at the World Market Center in Las Vegas. You can find Genesis Software Systems in booth #13 inside the new Retail Resource Center. The RRC is space #16700.

Genesis Advantage Version 5.0 Announced May 8, 2006

Genesis Software Systems announced the latest version of the industry's best selling Windows system for furniture retailers today. Version 5.0 includes a variety of significant enhancements to the software. Here are some examples:

  • Expanded item number, item description, and customer name fields.

  • Additional field for storing a customer's cell phone.

  • Purchase orders expanded to 300 lines per order.

  • Automatic system-wide update of a customer's name, address, phone, etc. from a single screen.

  • User defined fields on Item Masters for things like color, cover, finish, etc. These fields can also be linked to Item Wizards for pull down lists.

  • Option to let Genesis automatically select a sales tax rate at point-of-sale based upon customer's zip code.

  • Support for Dymo brand label printers.

Genesis Software Systems Testing Microsoft Vista April 12, 2006

Microsoft Inc. of Redmond, WA recently accepted Genesis Software Systems into its testing program for Microsoft Vista. This new operating environment from Microsoft is scheduled to replace Windows XP over the next few years. Genesis will be testing Vista in-house and also verifying compatibility with Genesis Advantage.

Web Site and E-Commerce Development Launched March 15, 2006

Crystal Migliore at Genesis Software Systems announced today that development is under way for an on-line store application that is closely integrated with the Genesis Advantage business system. This new option will provide a simple and effective way for Genesis Advantage customers to maintain an on-line store. The on-line store will also be interfaced with the Genesis Advantage System so that sales received from the internet are automatically integrated into the business system. In tandem with this initiative Genesis Software Systems will also be offering economical web hosting and web site development to its clients. The complete e-commerce and web hosting solutions will be available before the Las Vegas World Market in July, 2006.

 

Drawing for Free Software at High Point Market March 12, 2006

Genesis Software Systems revealed today that it will be giving away a free copy of Genesis Advantage Lite in a drawing to be held in conjunction with High Point Spring Market. The drawing is available to any furniture retailer not presently using a Genesis Software Systems product. No purchase is necessary. Genesis Software Systems announced today that the fourth version of its popular business system has started shipping to customers. Version 4.0 contains several new enhancements aimed at improving the user's experience with the software.

 

Rayanne Ganuelas Joins Genesis in Account Manager Role January 12, 2006

Rayanne recently joined the Genesis staff in the role of Account Manager after several years with Microsoft Inc. in Redmond, Washington.  Rayanne brings terrific enthusiasm, excellent listening and problem solving skills, and a passion for helping people. Rayanne is a dedicated single parent of four and enjoys participating in competitive pool tournaments in her spare time (when she actually has spare time).

 

Genesis Advantage Now Available in Europe January 2, 2006

Office Logics Equipment Ltd. is currently distributing Genesis Advantage to Ireland and the United Kingdom. Sales, support, and installation are handled from Office Logic's main office in Dublin, Ireland.  Genesis Software Systems hopes to duplicate the success it has achieved in North America by offering a slightly modified version of its powerful and easy to use Genesis Advantage software program to furniture retailers across Europe.

 

New Price List Importing Technology December 12, 2005

Genesis Software Systems announced today that a new technology for electronically importing price list information from manufacturers will be part of the upcoming release of Genesis Advantage 4.0. This new option in the Inventory Control System module allows a user to easily import item price lists from widely available Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word documents, or a variety of other Windows compatible document sources.

 

Genesis Advantage Version 4.0 In Testing November 30, 2005

Genesis Advantage 4.0 is undergoing extensive testing as it is readied for a late December release. This new update includes some significant new enhancements including the ability to electronically import price lists from manufacturers.

Monthly On-Line Newsletter Launched August 23, 2005

Genesis Software System Users now have a new resource for the latest information about Genesis Advantage. An informative on-line newsletter is now being e-mailed to all Genesis clients on a monthly basis. Genesis users will see tips and tricks for getting the most the software as well as general articles about furniture retailing and technology. An archive of newsletters will also be available to Genesis users on our website (click on the Downloads link to get there).

 

New Tutorial CD Released August 15, 2005

A new tutorial CD is now available to all Genesis Advantage users. This CD is professionally produced and is a fantastic training tool. The heavily animated tutorial includes extensive details about how to set up and use Genesis Advantage. The Tutorial CD also includes a printable 400 page User's Guide, Report Packets, and a Quick Start Guide. Genesis Advantage 3.0 Shipping August 12, 2005

The latest version of Genesis Advantage began shipping on Friday, August 12, 2005. This update will be shipped in a staggered fashion over the next few weeks so look for yours in the mail soon!

 

User's Manual Available On-Line August 3, 2005

An updated User's Guide for Genesis Advantage can now be downloaded from our website 24 hours a day. This detailed guide contains instructions and illustrations and is an invaluable tool for getting the most from Genesis Advantage. It's free for all existing Genesis customers and takes just a few minutes to download. The User's Guide is in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format so you will need the free Adobe Acrobat reader to view and print the guide. Las Vegas Market A Big Success August 1, 2005

An air of excitement permeated the recently concluded Las Vegas Market. Many of you found us on the 2nd floor of the World Market Center in the WHFA Resource Center. Genesis Software Systems concluded one of its most successful trade show appearances ever and added several new clients to the Genesis family while at the show.

 

Advantage 3.0 Nears Release July 19, 2005

Genesis Advantage 3.0 is in the final phase of development and testing and is scheduled to ship in early August, 2005. This latest update sports significant speed and capacity enhancements and a slew of new features including:

 

ü Lay Away Manager - A new tool for effectively managing inventory in lay away transactions.

ü Discontinued Items Option- This new option provides better handling of discontinued items.

ü Foreign Currency Converter- Allows for instant updating of item costs in various currencies when exchange rates change.

ü New E-Mail Options- Customer statements and sales invoices can now be e-mailed.

 

Liz Au Joins the Genesis Staff May 28, 2005

Liz Au is the newest member of the customer relations staff at Genesis Software. Her duties include on-site training, customer service, and account acquisition.  She is looking forward to working with our existing clients and consulting with new prospective members of the Genesis Software family. Liz comes to us from the great state of Texas and is the proud mother of 3 children.

 

New Report Packets Now Available May 10, 2005

Updated Report Packets for the Inventory Management and Accounts Receivable modules are now available. The Report Packets contain descriptions and examples of the reports available in Genesis Advantage 2.0. The booklets are an excellent educational tool for prospective and current system users. The Report Packets are available on CD in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format and can be obtained free of charge by calling the Genesis home office at 509-536-4739.

 

Genesis Software Systems in Las Vegas April 26, 2005

Genesis Software Systems has announced plans to attend the upcoming Las Vegas Furniture Market in the summer of 2005. Full product demonstrations and private appointments will be available. Genesis will be located in space C5544 (WHFA Resource Center) inside the Las Vegas World Market Center. The scheduled show dates are July 25-July 29 (Monday through Friday), 2005.

 

Genesis Advantage 2.0 Ships April 23, 2005

Version 2.0 of Genesis Advantage began shipping on April 22, 2005 to existing Genesis customers.

 

Genesis Advantage 2.0 includes several significant enhancements. Highlights include:

Genesis Calendar This new module allows users to schedule and review appointments in a calendar like fashion for up to 30 people. You can also maintain “To Do” lists and Contact Lists for each person set up in Genesis Calendar. Full password protection keeps information confidential whenever and wherever it is necessary.

Calendar Features
ü Schedule appointments for any time of the day in 15, 30, or 60 minute increments.
ü Specify your own starting and ending time for your daily schedule.
ü Very easy to use.
ü Color code daily appointments in the calendar to highlight and prioritize important dates.
ü Print a convenient list of appointments for any range of dates.
ü Keep free form notes for any day. You can also search your notes based upon key words and then print the results to your printer or export them to Microsoft Excel.

ü Prioritize To-Do List items (High, Medium, Low).
ü Print or export a To-Do List at any time.

Contact List Features
ü Includes address, phone numbers and an e-mail address.

Extensive Delivery Schedule Updates Several key changes to the delivery scheduling part of Genesis Advantage are included with this update:

  ü View the delivery schedule in an intuitive calendar like screen.
  ü Pop-up a detailed list of deliveries for any day while scheduling a new delivery.
  ü Schedule deliveries by exact time instead of just AM/PM.
  ü Block out a selected amount of time for each delivery during scheduling.
  ü Set up an unlimited number of delivery trucks and pickup locations.

New Password Protection Option You can now assign a single password to each person on your staff and then designate which parts of the software that person can access. This new password protection option offers finer control over the parts of the system that each person is allowed to access and eliminates the need to repeatedly enter passwords. You can assign access rights to individual menu buttons on most screens and individual report tab pages in the reporting sections of the Inventory Control System.

New Pricing Alert Reporting A new report automatically alerts you to changes in item costs and prices so you can make sure the items are priced correctly on your sales floor. This new feature is integrated with Price Tag printing so that you can print new price tags for the affected items with just a couple of mouse clicks.

New Internal Date Option A new date selection option allows you to select a date for batching sales invoices without changing your computer’s system date. This is especially helpful for multi-store operations using Windows Terminal Services and situations where you would prefer to use your own date for batching sales invoices instead of the computer’s system date.

New One-Step “Void” Button on the Sales Invoice Screen A new “Void” button now makes it easy to void a sales invoice with a single mouse click.

Quickly Create Multiple Item Records in a Single Window Save time with this powerful new option! You will be able to create multiple new Item Masters in a spreadsheet-like screen. Lots of data entry helps make this process faster than ever before!

Bar Codes for Item Groups You can now assign a bar code number to an item group and then enter that group on a sales invoice, purchase order, or transfer order just by scanning the group bar code number. Another fantastic time saver!

Print Preset Notes for Manufacturers on Purchase Orders A new field in the manufacturer list allows you to enter a short note (100 characters) for each manufacturer and then print, fax, or e-mail along with purchase orders for that manufacturer. You might use this field to include notes like “Ship Via Common Carrier” or “Do not ship until total of all orders exceeds $1000.”

Select Any Cost To Appear on Printed Purchase Orders You can now select the raw cost, landed cost, selling price, or any of the pricing window prices to appear on your printed, faxed, or e-mailed purchase orders. You can also omit costing information entirely.

Include Customer Delivery Terms on Delivery Schedule Report This new feature allows you to set up custom text and then have it printed at the bottom of each delivery on the Delivery Schedule Report. For example, you might want to set up the delivery terms for your business and have them automatically print after the signature line on each delivery copy.  

High Point Market a Success April 23, 2005

The recently concluded High Point Market was deemed a success by Gary Sauther, President of Genesis Software Systems. "Traffic was better than it has been in the last couple of years and the response to our new Advantage 2.0 product was overwhelmingly positive", noted Sauther. Genesis Advantage 2.0 debuted in High Point just before it was released to the general public.

 

User's Group Meeting for AMI Dealers Scheduled April 10, 2005

A user's group conference for AMI Furniture Group dealers has been scheduled for May 17-18th in Helena, Montana. A Genesis Software representative will be on hand to conduct education, troubleshooting, and question/answer sessions. This promises to be a very productive couple of days for everyone involved. Genesis Announces Plans for UFA Trade Show March 30, 2005

Genesis Software Systems has announced plans to attend the Unfinished Furniture Association show in Columbus, Ohio later this year. This is the third consecutive year Genesis has attended the 2 day trade show and seminar event. The UFA show will take place July 17-19, 2005 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
